Travel by car
How to get there by car from Gordola (area code 6596):
Take the turnoff on to the Via Valle Verzasca and follow the serpentine road until after about 2km a huge dam comes into sight. That’s your destination. There is a car park right at the entrance of the dam. You’ll find us in the middle of the dam.
Travel by plane
The closest international airports are Zürich (ZRH), Switzerland or Milano (MIL), Italy. If you travel on with a rental car, allow 2-3 hours from both airports. Pubilc transport will get you to the dam in 2,5 hours from Zürich and 3,25 hours from Milan.
Travel by public transport
Use the link below and type in “Diga Verzasca” (Verzasca dam) as your final destination. Trains run to Tenero and Locarno and from there it’s a bus ride up to the dam in the Verzasca valley.
The trains stop first at Tenero and later on in Locarno – from both places you’ll be catching the yellow bus no. 321 in the direction of Sonogno – get off at “Diga Verzasca” – you might want to press the red stop button to alert the driver you want to get off there (drivers sometimes skip stations). The bus stop is right next to the dam.
